Teenage girl stabs Uber driver to death for reasons known to her

Teenage girl stabs Uber driver to death for reasons known to her
A teenage girl, 16, stole a knife and a machete from a Walmart then stabbed her Uber to death, police said.

The horrific attack carried out by Eliza Wasni was completely unprovoked, prosecutors in Chicago said. The victim Grant Nelson, 34, managed to pull over and flee his Uber car for help.

"The victim runs to the lobby door and is heard banging and screaming, 'Help me, help me, I'm going to die,'" said Assistant State's Attorney Michelle Cunningham.

Police and paramedics were called and Mr Nelson was rushed to hospital but later died.

Wasni, who has been charged with first-degree murder as an adult, tried to driver Mr Nelson's car away from the scene but hit a bollard.

Officers responding to 911 calls found her hiding, still holding a knife and a machete.

Mr Nelson's younger sister Alexandra told of her family's shock and grief.

"The loss of intelligence and conversation and nuance and thoughtfulness that he brought into all of our lives is going to be felt, and it will reverberate with us throughout the coming weeks and months and years, and it is not a hole that can be easily filled," she told ABC 7 Chicago.

Female Thugs Poured Paint Down Ex-Friend's Throat In 'Long And Sustained' Torture Ordeal

Female Thugs Poured Paint Down Ex-Friend's Throat In 'Long And Sustained' Torture Ordeal

Two women poured paint down their former friend's throat and stabbed her with a fork in a "long and sustained" torture ordeal. Layla Warburton, 25, and Sharna Christie, 26, also kicked and punched the victim, smashed a TV over her head and strangled her with a cord.

The pair had been invited into the home of 'American' Jamie Wijnaendts but then subjected her to an horrific attack after an argument broke out, Gloucester Crown Court heard. Warburton denied attempting to inflict grievious body harm but was found guilty after a trial,
She was jailed for six years.

Christie admitted the same offence and also pleaded guilty to unrelated offences of assaulting a man causing actual bodily harm and robbing a woman of cigarettes. She was jailed for four years and eight months.

At the time of the brutal attack last November Warburton, had been out of prison only a month after serving a four year sentence for another assault.

Prosecutor Julian Kesner told the court said Ms Wijnaendts was in her own flat in Gloucester when the defendants, who both knew her, paid a visit.

"An argument broke out and the two defendants attacked her and she was kicked and punched by them," he said.

"Her evidence to the court was that the two of them were like peas in a pod and it was very much a joint enterprise by them."It was a long and sustained attack that took place.

"It started with punches and kicks followed by paint being poured into Ms Wijnaendts' mouth.

"She was hit over the head with a TV. "

"A cord was wrapped around her neck and pulled so tight that there were clear marks left where there had been an attempt to strangle her."

Judge Jamie Tabor QC added: "Someone tried to stick a fork into her, too."

The prosecutor showed the judge a picture of Ms Wijnaendts' badly injured face  with four prong marks above her right eye, her left eye badly bruised and closed, and cord marks around her neck.

Facebook and WhatsApp group Admins could go to jail for offensive posts in India

facebook and whatsapp group admin

According to a joint order issued by the district magistrate of Varanasi and the city’s police chief, offensive posts such as rumours or fake new circulated through WhatsApp or Facebook groups can land the group admin in jail.

Varanasi DM Yogeshwar Ram Mishra and SP Nitin Tiwari recently issued  a joint order that said an FIR (first investigation report) can be filed against a group administrator if factually incorrect, rumour or misleading information is circulated on his/her social media group.

The order partly reads, “there are several groups on social media which are named on news groups and also groups with other names which are propagating news and information which is not authentic. These are being forwarded without cross-checking”.

The order stated social media group administrators should be ready to bear the responsibility and ownership of the groups. The administrator must include only those members who are personally known to him or her. If any statement is made by a group member which is fake, can cause religious disharmony, or rumour, the group admin must deny it on the group and remove the member from the group.

“In the event of inaction from the group admin, he or she will be considered guilty and action will be taken against the group admin,” the order stated.

Such a post must also be reported to the nearest police station so that action can be taken against the member under the law.  A case under cyber crime law, Information Technology Act and Indian Penal Code will be filed in case of violation of these guidelines. The order also made it clear that orders of Supreme Court and various high courts will be considered while initiating action.  “While freedom of expression on social media is important, it also comes with a responsibility,” the order said.

SAUDI ARABIA SCHOOL SHOOTING: Two confirmed dead

Gun shooting kills two in Saudi Arabia

Reports confirmed it that two people were killed and another injured when a man opened fire inside a private school's administration building in Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh, but no students were present, the head of the school told Reuters.

The shooting was "a case of a disgruntled employee," said Talal al-Maiman, CEO of Kingdom Holding and chairman of Kingdom Schools, which operated the school.

"It is with regret that the administration building of Kingdom Schools witnessed this morning a shooting incident by an Arab national who was dismissed from the school four years ago on the basis of anger issues and an unstable personality.

The victims were a Saudi national and a Palestinian national, he said, and the situation at the school was contained as of mid-afternoon.

The school had been closed about a week before the Ramadan holiday, in line with a royal decree.
The holiday began on Saturday. Police cars could be seen at the school campus, but the scene was otherwise quiet.

An Interior Ministry spokesman said it was a "criminal case" and that Riyadh Police would issue a statement with further details.

Kingdom Schools is owned and operated by Kingdom Holdings, a company of Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal. It is situated in northern Riyadh.

Maiman said the school's private security guards followed established procedures until the case was handed over to government authorities.

Breaking: EFCC seizes Barrister George Turnah's second property in Abuja

EFCC seizes Goodluck's godson George Turnah's second property in Abuja

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has seized another property from George Turnah, a godson to former President Goodluck Jonathan.

The property, which is located at Citec Estate, Gwarinpa, Abuja, is a duplex. Although the EFCC has yet to evaluate the value of the property, sources told our correspondent that such property would go for between N70m and N100m.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the inscription, ‘EFCC, Keep off’ was seen across the fence and the gate of the building.

The commission is still tracing Turnah’s remaining properties.

Last week, the anti-graft agency seized a mansion and some other properties allegedly traced to Turnah who is standing trial for an alleged N3bn fraud.

The commission also froze about seven bank accounts through which Turnah allegedly received billions of naira.

Justice Ibrahim Watilat had granted the interim forfeiture order based on an application filed before the court by the EFCC’s counsel, Adebola Olatunji.

Turnah, together with seven companies, were arraigned on 12 charges bordering on obtaining money by false pretences, money laundering and abuse of office to the tune of N3, 094, 268, 235.69.

Meanwhile, some aggrieved youths in Bayelsa State on Tuesday staged a peaceful demonstration in Yenagoa, the state capital, in support of the EFCC.

The youths, particularly commended the anti-graft agency for the arrest and detention of  Turner.

On Tuesday, the angry youths, under the aegis of the Concerned Citizens of Bayelsa State, led by their coordinators, Chief Harrow Zuokomor and Mr. Abule Bethel, said Bayelsa was still in shock at the magnitude of funds seized from Turner by the EFCC.

The youths were armed with placards bearing inscriptions such as, ‘We thank the EFCC for exposing corrupt persons,’ ‘Enemies of Niger Delta exposed,’ ‘Well done EFCC’ and ‘George Turner impoverished Bayelsa State.’

The protesters, who started the solidarity march from the popular Ekeki Park to the state House of Assembly Complex and the Headquarters of the State Police Command, noted that they had read and seen reports of the funds allegedly diverted by Turner.

They pleaded with the EFCC to consider returning the money to the state.

Zuokomor, while submitting the group’s petition to the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Asuquo Amba, for onward submission to the EFCC, expressed concern over the level of corruption among political appointees.

Addressing the demonstrators, Asuquo promised to deliver their message to the appropriate authorities.

More trouble seems to have inflicted the Godson to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Barrister Alabh George Turnah, as his kinsmen, Youths and women from his home state staged a massive protest against him on Tuesday 30th may at the YENAGOA capital, calling on further Prosecution by the EFCC and also asking for returns of all funds amounting to billions, alleged to have been looted from the Niger Delta Development commission  (NDDC), during his time as S.A to the commission.
BAYELSANS PROTEST AGAINST GEORGE TURNAH, DEMANDS FURTHER PROTECTION

The protesters alleged that the funds found in his possession as revealed by the EFCC, was meant for the development of the Niger Delta region, which was diverted during the past administration.

It could be recalled that Barr. Alabh George Turnah, was arrested by the EFCC, taken to court and was remanded in Kirikiri prison on corruption charges, as delivered by Justice Ibrahim Watilat of the Federal High Court, sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Wednesday. Though his lawyer has been told to apply for bail
He is facing a 12-count charge bordering on obtaining by false pretense, money laundering and abuse of office to the tune of N3, 094, 268, 235.69.

The angry protesters staged a demonstration in support of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the arrest and detention of Mr. George Turnah, the godson to former President Goodluck Jonathan and former special adviser to an erstwhile Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

The youths, under the aegis of the Concerned Citizens of Bayelsa state and led by their coordinators, Chief Harrow Zuokomor and Comrade Abule Bethel, said though the state was still in shock at the magnitude of seized funds and projects it was meant for in some parts of the state, the protest was to commend the EFCC and ask the anti-graft agency to return the seized fund to the state for development purposes.

The youths, armed with placards bearing inscriptions such as ‘We thank the EFCC for exposing corrupt persons,’ ‘Enemies of Niger Delta exposed,’ ‘welldone EFCC’ and ‘George Turnah impoverished Bayelsa state’, stated that the state is hungry for development and the return of the fund to the state government will ensure proper and even development.

The protesters, who started the solidarity march from the popular Ekeki park to the state house of assembly and the headquarters of the state police command, noted that they have read and seen on the pages of national dailies the monies allegedly diverted by George Turnah and pleaded with the EFCC to consider returning the money to the state.

Chief Harrow Zuokomor, while submitting the group’s petition to the state commissioner of police, Mr. Asuquo Amba, for onward submission to the EFCC, noted with concern that the issue of corruption among political appointees from the state to national level has eaten deep into the fabrics of the state and has continued to impoverish the ordinary people of Bayelsa state.

Addressing the demonstrators, the commissioner of police in the state, Mr. Asuquo Amba, promised to deliver their message to the appropriate authorities.

Turnah, a special adviser on youths to the erstwhile Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Mr. Bassey Dan Abia, was arrested in Port Harcourt in March this year in connection with alleged possession of N2billion suspected to be funds siphoned from the NDDC while serving there between 2012 and 2015.

The fugitive was arrested by the Intelligence Unit of the Nigerian Prisons Service with the support of men of the Department of State Services.

Ismail was sentenced to death by hanging for culpable homicide by a High Court in Kano on January 5, 2005.

On the day of the horrific Manchester Arena explosion which claimed the lives of 22 innocent people, Mr Afzal tweeted: “Manchester is my home now & my heart breaks for those who lives were taken by deluded narcissistic criminals who will never divide or defeat us.

The following day, Mr Afzal tweeted: “I prosecuted terrorists of all motivations. They’re not soldiers. They’re sad narcissists- thinking the world owes them. We owe them nothing.”

Woman offers her 4-months-old baby for N100,000 naira

Court

A young woman aged 25, Sandra Ishaku, was on Tuesday arraigned at a Jos Upper Area Court for allegedly selling her four-month-old baby for N100,000.

She along with three others Amechi Emmanuel, Jones Osim (a lawyer) and Gladys Chukwuma were charged with conspiracy, cruelty, and child abandonment.

According to the prosecutor, Mr. L. O. Ocho, Ishaku, on May 10, 2017, sold her baby to Chukwuma for N100,000.

Ocho told the court that the transaction was carried out in Jos, in the chambers of Osim, a legal practitioner. “Ishaku (the accused) conspired with Emmanuel and sold her baby to Chukwuma, who had just relocated from Ebonyi State to Jos,” he said.

The Presiding Judge, Yahaya Mohammed, did not take the plea of the accused, opting to remand three of them – Ishaku, Emmanuel and Chukwuma in prison custody, while the matter was adjourned to June 1, when hearing would commence.

Mohammed, however, granted Osim bail after his counsel, Mr. Lawrence Anya, pleaded that he be released on bail to the Nigeria Bar Association Plateau State Chapter.

A similar appeal by Mr. Peter Ikeolu, counsel to the three others, had earlier been rejected after the prosecutor argued that freeing them would affect investigations into the matter.

PHOTOS: Moment white supremacist knifeman begged cops to kill him after he killed 2 hero bystanders who died protecting a Muslim girl

The moment a white supremacist, accused of killing two men and causing injuries to another, begged police to shoot him was captured on camera and has now been published online.

Jeremy Joseph Christian, 35, launched a racist tirade against two teenage girls wearing hijab. Three men came to the rescue of the girls but ended up getting stabbed by Christian.

53-year-old Rick Best, a Portland employee and retired Army platoon sergeant who served for 23 years, and 23-year-old Taliesin Myrddin Namkai-Meche both died in the attack. The third man, Micah David-Cole Fletcher, 21, was stabbed in the neck and required surgery to remove bone fragments from his throat, but he survived and is recovering in hospital.

After Christian was accosted by police officers following the attack, he can be seen in the video shouting at the officers to shoot him. Larry Blackwood, a man who was travelling on the train one carriage behind the alleged attacker, can be heard in the video saying:

"So this guy just f***ing killed about three people. He stabbed three people on the MAX, that's why we chased his a** down.

While Blackwood, who works as a cook nearby, was talking a team of police officers were seen surrounding Christian.

'F*** you, f***ing kill me,' the alleged killer can be heard yelling at the officers, as he held a knife in one hand and what looked like a beer can in the other. He was seen pouring liquid on himself to wash the blood off his clothing.

He continued shouting: "Shoot me! Go ahead and shoot me in the back, you piece of s***... If you want to get my knife you have to kill me, f***ers."

Blackwood told the Williamette Week what he saw when Christian got out of the train after hearing people crying from ahead of him on the train.

"I heard a woman scream, 'He's stabbing people.' I jumped up and said 'Then f***ing stop him.'" He added that he saw two men on the ground: "Holding their necks, bleeding out of their necks, like thick black blood… I could smell the blood, there was so much of it."

Blackwood recalled how he and two other men from the train chased after Christian, until they caught up to him at a crossing on 47th Street. He stopped there, turned around and pulled out his knife then faced Blackwood and the other men, asking them "You want some?". Blackwood replied in the negative and that saved them. They later saw a police officer driving by after they crossed over 47th and they alerted the officer.

A woman on the train, Rachel Macy, who was there for 23-year-old Taliesin Myrddin Namkai-Meche as he died revealed his final words. She said that as she took off her shirt put on him and began to pray, she told him that he was a beautiful man and she was sorry the world was so cruel to which he replied:

"Tell them, I want everybody to know, I want everybody on the train to know, I love them."

Destinee Mangum, one of the two girls initially attacked by Christian, told KPTV she believes her and her friend would be dead if not for the Fletcher, Best, and Namkai-Meche. When Christian attacked the girls, he allegedly shouted at them to "go back to Saudi Arabia", to "get out of his country", and to "kill themselves".

The night before he launched the deadly attack, Christian was filmed going on another racist rant while on public transport. A woman recorded him yelling out racist rants while on a bus, saying: "F*** all you Christians and Muslims and f****** Jews , f****** die. Burn you at the stake… f****** die". That same night he was also maced by a black woman after hurling a bottle of Gatorade at her. He had also been seen at a 'free speech' on April 29 and tried to carry in a baseball bat, but it was seized by police.

UK Police arrest wannabe pilot in new terror raid as Manchester attack probe widens

Police arrive at flat in Shoreham

The latest update arrest came as new CCTV footage of evil killer Salman Abedi was released showing him shopping at a convenience store just hours before massacre
A wannabe pilot was today held by anti-terror police probing the Manchester Arena massacre.

A 23-year-old Libyan named locally as Alaedeen Sicri, also known as Ala Zakry, is the 16th person held in connection with last Monday’s suicide bomb attack.

The latest arrest came as new CCTV footage of evil killer Salman Abedi was released showing him shopping at a convenience store just hours before he blasted 22 people to death at a gig.

Sicri is thought to have arrived in Britain around five years ago. He enrolled at a flight school near his flat in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, more than 250 miles from Manchester. He was held in a dramatic early-hours swoop.

Alaedeen Sicri was named by locals as the man arrested

Charlie Foss, 22, and his pregnant girlfriend were house-sitting the flat next door when armed police arrived.

He said: “I woke up about one or two after I heard screaming and shouting.”

Sicri, who is said to have struggled to find airline work after qualifying as a pilot, was most recently running a Libyan e-commerce website from his flat.

He stayed with Jennifer Crump, 65, and husband John, 70, for more than three years before moving out to live with his western girlfriend.

Jennifer insisted Sicri never showed any signs of extremism. She said: “Every morning he’d leave looking really smart in his pilot’s uniform.

“He prayed every day, but he was never outwardly religious, there was nothing that rang any alarm bells.

South Sudan woman bags 26 years jail term for drowning her kids in Australia

Mother receives 26 years jail 26 term for drowning her kids

Mother who fled conflict and admitted killing three of her children and attempting to murder a fourth by driving her car into a lake was jailed for 26 years in Australia on Tuesday.

Akon Guode, who came to Australia after fleeing civil war in South Sudan, plunged the vehicle into the lake on the outskirts of Melbourne in 2015, killing one-year-old son Bol and four-year-old twins Hanger and Madit.

Rescuers pulled her and five-year-old daughter Alual from the sinking vehicle.

In handing down his sentence, Justice Lex Lasry said the 37-year-old suffered from post traumatic stress syndrome but why she had driven into the lake remained a “tragic mystery”.

“The sentence I’m about to impose is in some respects inadequate to reflect the gravity of what you’ve done, yet at the same time excessive given your mental state and your background of hardship and desperation,” he said.

Nonetheless “these are obviously grave offences”, Lasry added.

“These children trusted you as their mother as they were entitled to do. Your betrayal of that trust had catastrophic consequences whatever the true reasons were for your consequences.”

The defence told the court Guode suffered severe psychological trauma from the civil war.

Witnesses said before the tragedy Guode had complained of receiving threats from the estranged wife of the children’s father — with whom she had been having a long affair — and had isolated herself from the Sudanese community.

The mother-of-seven’s eldest daughter had previously told the court she was concerned about Guode’s driving as she had been experiencing dizzy spells for six months leading up to the deaths.

Guode, who reportedly wailed as her sentence was handed down in the Victorian Supreme Court, will spend a minimum 20 years behind bars before being eligible for parole.

Breaking: Tiger Woods arrested for drunk driving

Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods was arrested in Florida today on a charge of drunk driving, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

The 41-year-old golfer was arrested around 3am on Military Trail, south of Indian Creek Parkway in Jupiter.

Arrest information shows Woods, a resident of Jupiter Island, was booked into jail at 7:18am and then released on his own recognizance at 10:50am.

He faces a charge of driving with a blood alcohol level above Florida's legal limit of .08.

This is the second time that Woods has been caught drinking and driving.

In November 2009, two days after the National Enquirer broke the story that Woods had been cheating on his then-wife Elin Nordegren with a New York City nightclub manager, Woods left home and crashed his Cadillac Escalade into a fire hydrant, a tree and several hedges. However, he wasn't charged in that incident.

Following that incident, several other women came forward, saying they too had affairs with the professional golfer - tarnishing his previously pristine image.

A month later, he entered a 45-day therapy program and apologized for his actions, saying 'I thought I could get away with whatever I wanted to'.

Woods and Nordegren divorced a little less than a year later, in August 2010.

Since then, Woods' career has been in a free fall as he's failed to remain a major competitor and advertisers have stopped sponsoring him.

Shocking! Newborn Baby Rescued From Public Toilet After Being Dumped By Mum

Newborn Baby Rescued Alive From Public Toilet After Being Dumped By Mum

A newborn baby girl was rescued alive from the cesspit of a public toilet after being allegedly abandoned there by her mum.

The tiny child was found by shocked residents visiting the loos next to a waste treatment station in north-western China.

Her mum was nowhere to be found, so the locals called the police, who in turn alerted the fire service. The incident happened in Yulin City in Shaanxi Province. Hu Xiaogang, one of the rescuers on the scene, said the girl was found lying face-up in human excrement. But fortunately, there was not enough for her to drown.

Newborn Baby Rescued Alive From Public Toilet After Being Dumped By Mum

The fireman said: "The baby appeared to be a newborn. Her umbilical cord was still attached."

"She was born in the women's toilet," Hu added. "But we decided not to breach the floor from that side in case the debris caused her secondary injuries."

The child's umbilical cord was cut and she was handed over to paramedics to be taken to hospital, where she is said to be in a stable condition after receiving treatment.

The authorities did not reveal why they thought the girl might have been abandoned.

But they are now searching for the child's mum, who could face charges for abandoning her child.

Police nabbed teacher for cutting pupils nails and taking their blood samples

classroom

The Ondo state police command have arrested two school teachers for collecting the fingernails and blood samples of two pupils in a very suspicious manner.

According to reports, the teachers identified as Sola Kalejaiye and Blessing Omowera collected the samples with the intent of using them for rituals. The state police command in a statement released, said Omowera who is a teacher at Heritage Nursery and Primary School, Ondo town, had called two of her pupils, both three year old, forward to cut their nails. In the process, she cut their finger and used a cloth to clean the blood stain and thereafter collected both the cut nails and the blood stained cloth. On getting home, one of the pupils informed her father, Ambrose Akinnodi, what happened in school. Her father then lodged a complain at a police station.

When Omowera was arrested, she told the police that it was one Mr Kalejaiye who is a teacher at a secondary school in the state, that asked her to collect the items. She reportedly confessed that Kalejaiye informed her that he wanted to use the nail and blood samples for ritual.

While Omowera has already been charged to court, Kalejaiye is still in police detention and would be arraigned in court.
