A close aide of Kim Jong-Un has warned 'reckless' Donald Trump that North Korea will 'annihilate the U.S with our style of nuclear strike warfare'.
The threat came as the country's leader watched on as the country's military put on a huge display of strength in Pyongyang.
The despot leader, 33, applauded alongside military leaders as thousands of troops and tanks filled the streets of the capital on Saturday morning.
At the ceremony, Choe Ryong Hae, addressed the packed square with a characteristically bellicose warning to the United States.
"If the United States wages reckless provocation against us, our revolutionary power will instantly counter with annihilating strike, and we will respond to full-out war with full-out war and to nuclear war with our style of nuclear strike warfare," he said.
North Korea has vowed to retaliate in a "merciless manner as not to allow the aggressors to survive" against the US and its allies if Washington chose to attack.
The statement comes after the country's military said it would "ruthlessly ravage" America if it were to attack, as a US aircraft carrier group headed for the region.
The military denounced the US for bringing "huge nuclear strategic assets" to the region as the Carl Vinson strike group with a flag-ship nuclear-powered aircraft carrier steamed closer.
The North's state-run television KRT cited a spokesman for the General Staff of the Korean People's Army as saying that Trump administration, which made a surprise guided cruise-missile strike on Syria on April 6, has entered the path of open threat and blackmail. Read Full Story
