Amazing moment 15 passers-by LIFT Mercedes A Class off a seven-year-old boy after road crash
THIS is the dramatic moment a group of heroic strangers LIFTED a car off a seven-year-old boy who had been mow down by the out-of-control vehicle.

The remarkable footage shows around 15 people pulling the two tonne Mercedes A Class off the youngster, before hauling him to safety.

The boy was involved in a collision at around 8.40pm on Sunday on St Peter’s Road in the Highfields area of Leicester.

Police and paramedics dashed to the scene and the boy was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC) in nearby Nottingham.

The lad, who attends nearby Medway Community Primary School, remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.

Eyewitness Vijay Vadgama, 23, filmed the brave rescue from his girlfriend’s flat which is opposite the crash site.

He said: “I had just been dropped off at my girlfriend’s house for the evening.

“We were settling down to watch a movie, when all of a sudden there was a huge ‘bang’ outside.

“All I could hear was just people shouting ‘stop, stop, stop’ at the top of their voices.
“I immediately thought the worst. I could hear people running and screams.

“I took my phone up to a bedroom window and started recording in case it was needed for evidence.

“I could see the boy trapped under the car. Clearly the boy had been hit.

“I could see the mum walking up  to the traffic lights, clearly thinking that he would be there.

“She just turned around, saw her son under the car and collapsed, almost straight away.

“I can’t imagine what she must have gone through in that moment.”

The police arrived three minutes later but the group of passers-by had already started lifting car, Vijay said.

He added: “I couldn’t believe how quickly the community came together to rescue the boy from underneath the boy.

“There were paramedics there, and they went over to treat the son and his mum, who got back on her feat and looked to be pretty shaken up.

“A paramedic was quickly on the scene tending to the boy. He didn’t seem to be too badly hurt, but obviously it could have been a lot worse.

“As far as I could see the driver was helping to lift up the car, but I’m not sure what happened to him afterwards.”

A Leicestershire Police spokesperson said: “We received a report of an RTC (Road Traffic Collision) on St Peter’s Road in Leicester involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

“The young boy was taken to the QMC where he is in a critical but stable condition.

“The driver was uninjured. No offences were committed.”
